چکیده

Abstract The influence of anisotropic work-hardening on the component properties and process forces in cold forging is investigated. focus material behaviour exhibited after strain path reversals. three steels characterized for large monotonic strains (equivalent up to 1.7) subsequent reversals (accumulated 2.5). Tensile tests specimens extracted from rods forward extruded at room temperature reveal an almost linear all investigated steels. application compressive gives insights into non-monotonic behaviour. All previously reported phenomena such as Bauschinger effect, stagnation permanent softening are present intensify with pre-strain. Experimental results 16MnCrS5 were utilized select constitutive models increasing complexity regarding their capability capture work-hardening. best fit between experimental numerical data was obtained by implementation a modified Yoshida-Uemori model, which able observed phenomena. applied simulations single- multi-stage forming processes, revealing significant effect hardening predicted forces, originating process-intrinsic well stages. Selected validated experimentally.

Cold hardening in citrus stems.

Stem cold hardening developed to different levels in citrus types tested in controlled environments. Exotherms indicated ice spread was more uniform and rapid in unhardened than in cold-hardened stems. All attempts to inhibit the functioning of citrus leaves resulted in less cold hardening in the stems. Citrus leaves contribute a major portion of cold hardening in the wood.

Cardiovascular and Thermal Strain during Manual Work in Cold Weather

In some occupations it is hard to protect the hands against the severe weather conditions in wintertime due to the requirement to maintain manual dexterity. Decrease in temperature of the hands increases risk of cold injury and deteriorates muscle function and manual dexterity, which in turn decreases productivity. A series of field and lab studies were performed to investigate cold stress and ...

A rapid cold-hardening process in insects.

Traditionally studies of cold tolerance in insects have focused on seasonal adaptations related to overwintering that are observed after weeks or months of exposure to low temperature. In contrast, an extremely rapid cold-hardening response was observed in nonoverwintering stages that confers protection against injury due to cold shock at temperatures above the supercooling point. This response...

Bending-Unbending Analysis of Anisotropic Sheet under Plane Strain Condition

The mechanical behavior of cold rolled sheets is significantly related to residual stresses that arise from bending and unbending processes. Measurement of residual stresses is mostly limited to surface measurement techniques. Experimental determination of stress variation through thickness is difficult and time-consuming. This paper presents a closed form solution for residual stresses, in whi...

Experimental Investigations on Heat Treatment of Cold Work Tool Steels: Part 1, Air-hardening Grade (d2)

The present experimental investigations deal with the improvement of mechanical properties of cold work tool steels through different heat treatment processes. An attempt was made to get optimal combination of hardness and toughness through changes of microstructure by heat treatment. The toughness of D2 tool steel increases with tempering temperature. The hardness of D2 tool steel decreases wi...
